About

It is my aim for Still Believing to be a multi-functional multi-fandom fansite, featuring screencaps (mostly of lesser screencapped movies and tv shows, like the 4400), artwork I have made to share, any fanlistings I create, adopt, or join, and also information pages.

Domain

Fictional television shows, movies, and books are all about suspending disbelief. That's how I got the name, Still Believing. I first used a free domain from Co.cc, but on September 3, 2009, I bought stillbelieving.net from GoDaddy.com.

Hosting

Now, how did it all get started in the first place? It was kind of indirectly through 4400 Abductees. Naturally, having a message board, I wanted to make the board the best I could, so what did I do? I joined the support board for the message board host. I got quite active for a while too. I learned about the pending upgrade from Invisionfree software to Zetaboards software. Eventually they made a Zetaboards beta test board for anyone to join and play around with the new features of the upcoming upgrade. This was in 2007. Around the time of Mardi Gras, there was a Mardi Gras topic in one of the forums. Being the perfect little Louisianian Mardi Gras celebrator that I am, I posted a reply. The discussion in that topic ended up partially going back and forth between me and another Louisianian a couple of years younger than me by the name of Justin. Eventually we started PMing each other, which lead to adding each other on MSN Instant Messenger. Over the next 2 years, we’ve had some good talks about who remembers what, but I think its safe to say we trust each other, internet-wise. At some point, Justin got his own web hosting. Around October 2008, I mentioned that I wished I could get webhosting so I could put up 4400 screencaps to share since there was absolutely no place to get them. “How much do you need?” he asked me. “Well, how much can I have?” I asked, not wanting to get to too hopeful. “Well, how much do you need?” he asked again. After a few minutes spent making estimates, I replied, “How about 2 GB to start. That should take care of the 4400 screencaps and leave a little room for expansion.” “Ok, you can have 5.” And that was that. The gallery went up right away and then a few months later, the rest of the site.
